FoxBuilt Homes Launches its 6th Homes for HOPE Project

On Thursday, August 20th, in this their 25th anniversary, FoxBuilt Homes launched their 6th Homes for HOPE Project since 2009 in their gorgeous Farm Crest Community model home located at 102 Calia Circle, Hummelstown, PA 17036. FoxBuilt has set the template for how custom homebuilders can partner with Homes for HOPE. They are one of our most creative partners using land donations to attract other builders to partner with us, selling land and donating the profit, and working with their trade partners and suppliers to get donated and discounted services on their builds to increase the profit margin unlocking more funds from which to pull larger donations!

At the launch event, founder John Fox shared what first inspired him to get involved with Homes for HOPE. He determined the opportunity to serve thousands of families through one house versus one family at a time was an incredible return on investment in the nonprofit space.

Furthermore, he shared the story of an entrepreneur in Congo who had a sewing business where she handstitched clothes. She dreamed of being able to purchase a sewing machine, but they cost $100 and she could only save $5 per year. That meant it would take her 20 years to purchase a sewing machine, and her kids would be past the point of benefitting from her provision by then. She received a $100 loan from HOPE to purchase a sewing machine which drastically increased her production. She paid the loan back and took another one to purchase another sewing machine which enabled her to hire someone else to help her. Her business exponentially grew from there, and she was able to care for her children as they grew up in ways she never thought possible before. John was committed to this mission.

The rest of the FoxBuilt team recently traveled to the Dominican Republic to meet the associates HOPE is privileged to serve there. A panel of trip participants shared from their hearts about what impacted them the most on the trip. A highlight was a quote from one the associates named Raphaela who shared with us, “My children are living the dreams I had for them 20 years ago.”

We are so grateful for FoxBuilt Homes and their longstanding partnership with us. If you would like to learn from them or talk with us about forming your own partnership with Homes for HOPE, please set up a meeting below!
