New Partnership with Daikin
Homes for HOPE is proud to announce our newly formed partnership with Daikin Comfort Technologies.
Since 1924, Daikin has been at the forefront of global HVAC innovation, spearheading advancements in energy-efficient and sustainable technologies to help redefine indoor air comfort and shape the future of indoor environments. With a passion for delivering energy-efficient and sustainable indoor air comfort technology, Daikin is Perfecting the Air We Share in North America and around the world.
That shared “around the world” focus is where we first found common ground. Earlier this year, at the Shinn Executive Summit, I connected with Matthew Sallee, Director of Marketing, and Kathleen Schaff, Marketing Technology Manager at Daikin. During our conversation, we discovered that both organizations are committed to serving people on a global scale.
More importantly, Matthew and Kathleen believe in Homes for HOPE’s sustainable approach to poverty alleviation. This model equips millions of people with a safe place to save, access to business loans, and practical training. As a result, individuals are empowered to provide for themselves and build lasting hope.
With that shared vision in mind, we began asking an important question: How could Daikin most strategically come alongside Homes for HOPE in our mission to alleviate poverty in some of the toughest places on earth?
Then Matthew suggested donating HVAC units and room air purifiers on Homes for HOPE Projects! When a builder decides to launch a Homes for HOPE Project, their local Daikin representative will receive an invitation to the launch event and offer these materials. This decreases the builder’s cost and increases their profit margin, resulting in a larger donation (generated by the sale of the home) for the mission of Homes for HOPE.
We are so grateful for the creativity of the Daikin team to conceptualize a generous way to get involved with our mission that works for their business!

Matthew Baehr brings nearly two decades of experience in disaster relief, humanitarian aid procurement, and ministry to his role as executive director of Homes for HOPE. An experienced speaker, networker, and fundraiser, he enjoys growing organizations through strategic planning and leadership development. Matt serves as an elder at his church and loves spending time with his amazing wife, Heather, and their four great kids.
