Keystone Custom Homes Project Launch Event
On an ordinary Tuesday, near the end of June, we had the Keystone Custom Homes project launch of their next Homes for HOPE building project. This incredible team of returning partners celebrated with trades and suppliers to share their passion for making a difference.
With temperatures reaching triple digits, the big tent was hoisted in a lot across from where this year’s project home will be constructed. Within a short drive from Charlotte airport, this new community beside the Catawba River will become home for a special buyer with the proceeds going to support the work of HOPE International.

A freshly poured foundation from Charlotte based, Griffin Masonry was the backdrop for spokesman Rob Merrell to share his own experience with Homes for HOPE. In a unique way, this provided a visual illustration about how addressing poverty comes in stages. Rob spoke of the importance to ensure that there is an accountability for outcome when considering charitable support and Homes for HOPE has proven to be exactly that.

At this Keystone Custom Homes Project Launch, Chief Executive Officer of the Carolinas, Alan Banks, shared from his personal experience in seeing the impact of the work’s outcome during his visit to the Dominican Republic. He shared a personal encounter with HOPE client, Douglas. Alan was impacted by the way Douglas used his own abilities and tenacity to impact not only his family, but his community. Closing with encouragement for attendees to join in this solid work through discounted services and supplies, several participants indicated enthusiasm for this project and the joy of being involved.
