SMA Summit Recap

Homes for HOPE is so grateful to Bob Whitten and Roland Nairnsey for generously donating a sponsorship and giving us the opportunity to speak in front of the top-quality builders that came eager to learn at the annual SMA Best Homebuilding Practices Summit. Bob and Roland are true advocates for our mission, and it showed as they spoke on our behalf. Bob even said, “Every builder in this room should be partnering with Homes for HOPE!” Many of our most longstanding and faithful partners have come through SMA’s recommendation, and we couldn’t be more grateful.

There was a lot of talk and training around the strategic use of AI as it is becoming more and more ubiquitous in our industry. How can we most effectively use these new tools to help us be more productive without losing personal interactions and eroding the trust of our customers?

My main takeaway, however, was how positive the builders in the room were. It has been a rough year for most builders we regularly interact with, yet all the builders I talked to at SMA were saying that things are good. Sales are steady. Certain markets and product lines are thriving. It appears “on your lot”, 55+, and custom homebuilders are all fairly insulated from the challenges of our current economy, and I left the conference feeling encouraged and unexpectedly bullish about there being good things on the horizon for the building industry. This is also likely a testimony to the effectiveness of Bob and Roland’s stellar coaching.

I’m so grateful to be a part of this industry and serve alongside its wonderfully resilient people and companies. We’d love to continue to grow our partnerships across the country, so please don’t hesitate to set up a meeting with a Homes for HOPE representative to talk about how partnering with Homes for HOPE attracts and retains talent, grows your customer base, gives you inspiring marketing content, and most importantly provides your company, trade partners, and suppliers the opportunity to effectively and sustainably address all forms of global poverty.

Thank you, Bob and Roland!
