2025 SMA Best Home Building Practices Summit Recap

I recently had the privilege of attending SMA Consulting’s Best Home Building Practices Summit. Bob Whitten and his team were generous and gracious hosts and put together an incredible program led by seasoned, talented industry experts. I got to connect with friends, old and new, and came home with many valuable strategies to ruminate on and apply to our mission here at Homes for HOPE. 

Bob cultivated a light-hearted environment that made Summit attendees comfortable. It was evident that he, and those in his network, don’t take themselves too seriously, but take their work very seriously. There was a humble camaraderie that emanated from this event that was unlike anything I have experienced elsewhere. It felt like we were all for each other…like, “We’re in this thing together. Let’s help and serve each other.” It was a wonderful experience.  

Homes for HOPE has a rich history with Bob Whitten and SMA Consulting, and many of our longstanding partners have come through connections Bob made for us over the years. This summit was my first time meeting Bob in person, as he had taken a few years off from hosting the event, but it was immediately evident how much he loves and cares for the mission of Homes for HOPE. On multiple occasions, he took valuable stage time to advocate for us and strongly encouraged attendees to engage in supporting us through their companies. He gave me time to do a featured presentation during breakfast, and we couldn’t be more thankful for his generosity toward us.  

Homes for HOPE is so grateful for all the ways our partners in the building industry support our mission.
