Inaugural Brooks Award Unveiled at Gala

Prayer and a celebration of the year’s charitable giving is not the way that most successful companies kick off their annual awards gala, but then Grand Homes is not an ordinary company. Thus, it was fitting that before the Grand Homes team began receiving their awards, Grand Homes CEO Stephen H. Brooks was given one of his own: The Brooks Award for Excellence in Homebuilding and Philanthropy.
Homes for HOPE created the Brooks Award in recognition of receiving $5,000,000 in donations from Grand Homes since 2008. In keeping with the spirit of the evening, Partnership Representative Kent Rice told Brooks and the attendees that the award will be given to other builders every time they eclipse the million-dollar mark in donations.
“This was quite an honor,” says Brooks. “Sharing the joy of giving with my trade partners and suppliers and having our gifts impact hundreds of families just multiplies that joy. My trades and suppliers are specifically grateful that HOPE loans can help create sustainable businesses so that the loans are paid back and recycled to help even more families escape from poverty. Their gifts last in perpetuity!”
