From Oregon to Thirty Countries: Builder and Trades Celebrate the “Pahlisch Impact Home”
Canby, OR – On a beautiful evening in northwest Oregon, a crowd of 160 gathered to celebrate the collaborative effort that resulted in generous donations to both Homes For HOPE and Estera, a newly-established local nonprofit working to support trades, alleviate workers’ financial hardships and coordinate services.
Pahlisch Homes CEO Matt Nelson met with his team to discuss the significance of the project and to encourage them in service. He asked volunteers to share about a difficult time they had and what it meant to them when someone helped and believed in them.
The trades arrived soon afterwards and enjoyed delicious fresh pizza, threw axes and even rode a mechanical bull. Raffle winners were announced and enjoyed the prizes that had been donated by the tradespeople who came representing their company. Awards were then given to the trades, acknowledging them for generosity, flexibility, creativity and other company attributes.
Pahlisch Director of Communications Jason Myhre shared about the new “Pahlisch Impact Home” model and the company’s desire to
support both local missions through Estera and
global poverty through Homes For HOPE.
“The entrepreneur in Rwanda and the apprentice electrician in Canby or not different stories,” said Myhre. “They are different chapters of the same human story of people being able to thrive when the work of their hands matters.”
To wrap up the evening, Estera leader Sara Morris spoke about her nonprofit and the aspirations they have to serve locally. Then Kent Rice of Homes For HOPE gave his thanks for this latest example of the incredible generosity of Pahlisch Homes, who has already scheduled the next two Pahlisch Impact Homes.
Myhre sums up the heart of the organization like this:
“We are not doing this for a year. We are not doing this for optics.
We are doing this for generations.”
Thank you Pahlisch Homes for impacting the Pacific Northwest and the lives of families living in underserved communities all over the world!
